Detroit is now smaller than Columbus


This is apparently not the image people see when they think of Detroit. In fact, it's probably more in line with this.

Census data was released today, and Detroit's population fell by 25% over the last decade to 713,000. That's the lowest since 1910 ... 100 years ago. That's right, Detroit has officially regressed by 100 years.

More good news for Michigan -- it's the only state in the country to decline in population. The rest of the country grew by an average of 9.7%. And unfortunately, the only thing this signals to young people like myself, and probably many of yourselves, is that we need to get the fuck out of Michigan.
