This is Karina Smirnoff, who is on "Dancing with the Stars." I have never watched that show, not even when Stacy Keibler was on the show looking like this. And, well, that basically means there are no circumstances under which I would. I take that back, I would watch if Brooklyn Decker wore this (hint: you've seen this before. Click carefully).

The Red Wings have a much different feel this year, don't they? Not only did they finish off the sweep of the Coyotes Wednesday night, being the first team to advance to the second round, but they did it while there were so many reasons they shouldn't have. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the Wings were the underdog going into Game 4, but there were a lot things going on that you would think would lead to a Phoenix win: 1. Henrik Zetterberg missing his sixth straight game; 2. Johan Franzen being a late scratch; 3. The Wings were up 3-0 and were going to have to fly home anyway; 4. Supposedly, winning a close-out game is the hardest thing to do; 5. This might have been the last fucking game in Phoenix. Of course, all of that wound up being trumped by the thing that matters most in sports: The Red Wings were a vastly superior team. I love this team, I really do. And I don't want to get too carried away in a sweep of what was probably the worst playoff team in the Western Conference, but if the Wings play at the top of their game, I don't think anyone can beat them. (Freep)

Here's some Phoenix perspective. Gotta say I feel for the hardcore Coyotes fans, who are more than likely about to lose their team. But people of Winnipeg, consider this the 15-year-later apology from the Red Wings. (Five For Howling)

Elsewhere in a busy night in the NHL: Ryan Miller shut out the Flyers to tie the series at 2; Anaheim dominated the third period for a 6-3 win to tie their series with the Predators at 2; and the Penguins and Capitals each came away with double overtime victories to grab 3-1 series leads. (Puck Daddy)

The Tigers won 3-2 Wednesday afternoon, avoiding a series loss against the Mariners, which would have been embarrassing. Also embarrassing? Ryan Raburn being a second baseman, or just having a glove on his hand at all. (MLive)

At least we're not Mets fans. Although, we would have had the opportunity to wake up and see this, which is the new best sports lede ever written. (Sports Pickle)

This is more baseball news than I should probably be linking to in April, but the Dodgers were taken over by the MLB, which is apparently good news? (L.A. Times)

The Lakers tied their series with the Hornets last night, but boy I would not be all that confident if I were a Lakers fan. The Hornets are not very good outside of Chris Paul, and that's being remarkably kind. Sure, Paul is spectacular, but there are other point guards in the league that can give the Lakers that same kind of trouble. And apparently all you need to neutralize Pau Gasol is a big body. Although, which team has those ingredients? The Spurs? The Thunder? I'm going to stop analyzing basketball now. (L.A. Times)

The crazy asshole who poisoned those trees at Toomer's Corner? Yeah, he was beaten up in Auburn territory Wednesday and hospitalized. These fucking people are crazy. (CBS Sports)

These people are trying to die:

Candice Swanepoel, ladies and gentleman. But mostly gentleman.

But let's not mess around. Yesterday, and now today, is all about the Internet finding out there are topless pictures of Brooklyn Decker out there, and that they're as fabulous as you expected them to be (NSFW, duh). You might be saying to yourself, "They're just boobs. Why all the extra excitement?" Well, because they're Brooklyn Decker's boobs. A set that we've very nearly seen all of for a few years, but -- I personally -- never thought we'd see the whole thing(s). This is a bigger moment than I think you're giving it credit for, and frankly, I'm disappointed that my head has come up with a scenario where you don't think this is a big deal. (Egotastic)

The Detroit Red Wings are likely going to end hockey in Phoenix, and they could do it tonight, right in front of the hundreds of Coyotes fans that are sure to pack the spaces around Red Wings fans in Jobing.com Arena. Yes, I understand the irony of the fact the Wings were the team that ended hockey in Winnipeg, and now they're about to bookend the Phoenix era. In all seriousness, I feel bad for the young Coyotes fans who have attached themselves to this team. It has to be tough knowing you're about to lose something that's become a part of your life. I don't feel bad for, say, Shane Doan, however. I actually kind of hope the team moves to Siberia and joins the KHL, actually, when I think of Doan's future. (AZ Central)

As for the Wings, a win tonight also equals rest, which is huge in the playoffs, especially for an old, ailing team like the Wings. Going to Game 5 wouldn't be that big of a deal, because they'll have to travel back to Detroit at some point anyway, but Game 6 is not an option. Honestly, I think they finish it off tonight. And yes, I realize I was horribly wrong on my last prediction. (Freep)

I woke up late this morning because I spent a lot of my night watching the best game of the NHL Playoffs so far. Sure, it ended shittily, with the Sharks Devin Setoguchi netting an overtime winner to beat the Kings, but getting to that point was a lot of fun. The Kings went up 4-0, only to let the Sharks claw to within one, only to score about 20 seconds later to go back up two, only to give up that lead before the second period had ended. The game ended 6-5 and nobody scored in the third period. It's going to be real tough for the Kings to bounce back from this. (Mercury News)

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks finally showed up. It only took a 3-0 deficit for them to do it. Vancouver is still going to win this series, but if the Hawks can push it one more game, that would be ideal. But this was nice enough, as it not only means an extra game for the Canucks, but also could have planted a little seed of doubt in the mind of Roberto Luongo, a noted head case. (Chicago Tribune)

The Knicks lost in heart-breaking fashion last night, as Amare Stoudemire and Chauncey Billups finished the game watching from the bench. Carmelo Anthony was very, very good, but it wasn't enough. Will Leitch is good at writing. (NY Mag)

Wake me up in late July -- wait, no, that's when my wife is due -- early August and tell me how the Tigers are doing. At that point, I'll decide whether or not I'm going to pay attention the rest of the way. Because having to care about a team that is losing by 10 fucking runs to the Mariners is really annoying, especially when I know that this game is likely insignificant because it's one of 162. What I'm saying is that baseball season is way too fucking long to be a fan of a team like the Tigers. (DetNews)

Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones and DeAndre Liggins looked at who was in this year's draft pool and were like, "Ha! Yes, please." Kentucky will still be good next year, as Doron Lamb and some others return, plus they have another ridiculous recruiting class coming in -- I know, hard to believe. But this does solidify North Carolina as preseason No. 1. (ESPN)

Somewhere in Louisiana, this happened. I'm sure you're shocked. (Hattiesburg American)

I don't know why, but this kid's videos have me mesmerized. Add in some special guests, and I'm totally hooked:

This outfit is ironic, because you normally wouldn't go skiing or wear one of those thick Russian hats with a bikini. However, this outfit is not that far out of the question on a day like today, where you may have packed a bikini thinking that since it was April 18, you could sit outside in the sun, only to find that it's fucking snowing and you need a big Russian hat, and you could go skiing. Of course, you'd be a moron if you actually still put the bikini on, but that's beside the point.

Tonight we will find out something very important about these Red Wings. Are they the same team that we've seen over the last two years -- one that lacks a killer instinct unless they're pushed up against the wall -- or is this version finally ready to quit messing around and just finish off an inferior opponent. They say they're focused, but they always say that, because there's nothing else you can say. I fully expect a loss tonight, maybe of the 3-1 or 2-0 variety, but I really hope I'm proven wrong. The Wings need to take care of this series in five games at most so they can sit around and wait with Henrik Zetterberg healing up while the Sharks struggle to finish off the Kings. (Freep)

The Chicago Blackhawks came out of the gates Sunday night looking like a team that was defending its Stanley Cup championship. The rest of the game, though, they looked like a team that was lacking quality depth playing against a team that has an abundance of it. Now the Blackhawks are on the verge of being swept out of the playoffs, which is awesome. At the same time, it would have been nice had Vancouver been forced to sweat a little bit. Hopefully Nashville or Anaheim can provide that in round two. (Chicago Tribune)

The other two series played on Sunday are now at 2-1, as Brandon Dubinsky's mustache tightened things up for the Rangers and the Predators picked up a home win against the Ducks in what may be the most entertaining series of the playoffs which has yet to have a game nationally televised. (Puck Daddy)

The Tigers slipped back into "can't hit at all" mode this weekend, dropping the final two games of a series in Oakland to split it. The terrible inconsistency of this team is going to drive us all crazy all season long. Just be prepared for that. (DetNews)

The NBA Playoffs are off to an unbelievable start, with all eight games being competitive and interesting. The big story is San Antonio and Los Angeles both losing. The Spurs are going to get Manu Ginobli back, but they still might be in trouble against a Memphis team that has been real good down the stretch. The Lakers, meanwhile, had no answer for Chris Paul, who was outstanding. Will that continue? Probably not, because Paul's supporting cast is, um, not very good. But it was definitely a wake-up call for the Lakers. Oh, and the Knicks may have gotten jobbed on a shit-tastic offensive foul, but Carmelo Anthony was brutal in the loss to the Celtics. (The Big Lead)

Harrison Barnes is coming back, so North Carolina is you're preseason No. 1. Of course, that doesn't matter, because they'll probably lose to Holy Cross in next year's NCAA Tournament, a team that will go onto become the first 16-seed to not only win a first-round game, but also make the Final Four, which will include two 6s and Butler. (ESPN)

I bitch about the snow, but I suppose I would rather deal with the inconvenience of some cold weather and slippery roads than giant fucking tornadoes tearing through town. (Charlotte Observer)

OK, I don't know if this is really amazing, considering that we know the kind of damage that it left behind, but ... OK, this is amazing:

Brittany Daniel, who is the rare beast who's looks weren't able to overcome her acting ability. If you look like that, you should be in more movies that people want to see, but since she did "Joe Dirt" she's fallen off the radar a bit. Thankfully, the brilliant people at "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" have kept her career alive.

There were so many reasons for optimism that came out of the Red Wings' Game 1 win against the Coyotes last night. Jimmy Howard was superb, the Red Wings penalty killers were equally great, Pavel Datsyuk continued to own the Coyotes, Johan Franzen continued to be a playoff beast and Jiri Hudler found the back of the net. The Wings, when they're playing at their best, are simply too much for Phoenix to handle, which brings me to the only problem with last night's game, the Wings saw that they can win even if they sleep-walk through most of a period. If Howard is playing like he did last night, the only thing that can stop the Wings is being lackadaisical. But that's just me nit-picking after a terrific win. (Freep)

In Phoenix, fans aren't panicking, which they shouldn't be after a Game 1 loss on the road. But I stand by my point that last night proved what we all knew going in, the Red Wings are simply a lot better than the Coyotes. I do take exception to two of his bullet points, however. Shane Doan is a pest, and it's his job to get under players' skin. But for one, teams have been trying to get under the skin of the Red Wings for years, and the last team that successfully did that was the Colorado Avalanche in 1996. Since then, it's been a better team, ridiculous goaltending or general lack of intensity from the Wings that has cost them series. And if you think getting under Justin Abdelkader's skin (not by grit, but by putting him in a fireman's carry behind the net) is going to win you a series, you're in for a long series. Second, Klesla did not drop Bert, Bert fell. Think Dicky Eklund vs. Sugar Ray Leonard. (Five for Howling)

There were four other games last night: The Capitals beat the Rangers in overtime, but have to be a little concerned about their lack of offense; the Penguins shut out Tampa Bay, showing that playoff experience can out-duel talent; the Canucks got a great game from Roberto Luongo in a win against the Blackhawks; and the Nashville Predators stole one from Anaheim, scoring four goals, which for the Predators is like scoring eight goals. (Puck Daddy)

My initial reaction when Brandon Inge hit his walk-off home run yesterday afternoon was, "Oh shit, the Inge lovers are going to eat this up." My second reaction was, "Hey, a win!" So yeah, it appears my hate for Brandon Inge has reached a dangerous level. (DetNews)

The Pistons closed out their season that nobody cared about with a win. I don't even know who they played. But here's an end of season wrap-up, and hopefully the last thing we have to read about the Pistons until October. (MLive)

Kobe called a ref a faggot and was fined $100,000 for it. Can we agree that this is not a big deal, and if the camera hadn't caught Kobe saying it so ESPN and the Internet could play it over and over again, nothing would have happened? Yeah, it's a shitty word, but if you watch the video, it looks like Bryant just kind of muttered it to himself after yelling toward the ref. Can we also agree that a $100,000 fine is easily enough punishment for doing such a thing? OK, good. Let's move on. (Off the Dribble)

Barry Bonds was found guilty of obstruction of justice, which basically means nothing in his case. (SF Chronicle)
